Fundamental Skills

Communicate: I think I have done good  with listening and asking questions to understand and appreciate the points of view of others. Because I tend to ask questions when I don’t understand. And the thing I need to work on is using relevant scientific, technological, and mathematical knowledge and skills to explain or clarify ideas.Cause I usually sound like I’m speaking a different language if I’m trying to explain something to someone.

Manage information: I think i have done good with accessing, analyzing, and applying knowledge and skills from various disciplines (e.g., the arts, languages, science, technology, mathematics, social sciences, and the humanities) because a lot of times in my life I have to use my knowledge with things. And i need to work on locating, gathering, and organizing information using appropriate technology and information systems. because I’m not all that good at organizing information.

Use numbers: I think I have done good with observing and recording data using appropriate methods, tools, and technology. And I need to work on  deciding what needs to be measured or calculated.

Think and solve problems: I am good at be creative and innovative in exploring possible solutions because i know how to be creative and innovative. and i need to work on readily using science, technology, and mathematics as ways to think, gain, and share knowledge, solve problems, and make decisions.

Personal  Management Skills

  • Demonstrate positive attitudes and behaviors: I think I’m really good show interest, initiative, and effort because i’m eager to learn. and i think i need to work on taking care of my  personal health.
  • Be responsible: I think i’m really good at set goals and priorities balancing work and personal life and i think i need to work on assess, weigh, and manage risk.
  • Be adaptable: i think i’m good at learning from my mistakes and accept feedback. And i think i need to work on coping with uncertainty cause when ever i become uncertain i always shut down.
  • Learn continuously: I think i need to work on identifying and accessing learning sources and opportunities and i think i need to work on plan for and achieve my learning goals.
  • Work safely: i think i need to work on and im good at being aware of personal and group health and safety practices and procedures, and act in accordance with them

Teamwork Skills

  • Work with each other: i need to understand the role of conflict in a group to reach solutions
  • Participate in projects and tasks plan, design, or carry out a project or task from start to finish with well-defined objectives and outcomes

Photography Terms

exposure: It determines the darkness or Lightness of an image.

aperture: It allows more light through to reach the image.

flash: It provides light the a photograph your taking.

depth of field: This is where it focuses on all of the picture. instead of just one part.

focus: It just shows one certain object in the picture.

ISO number: It is how sensitive a digital cameras sensor is to light.

lens: Its a piece of glass shaped like its an eye lens for cameras.

shutter speed: Its the time the shutter is set for.

white balance: its like the temperature of  the photo.

 

Different Camera Shots

Close up: Close ups are when you want to show more detail and it is when you basically when you cut everything out of the shot except that one thing your taking a picture of.

Wide shot: this is used when you would like to show an object with the environment around it.

Mid Shot: This is when you want t show some of the environment around the subject your taking a picture of  but not as much as in the wide shot.

Long shot: it shows fro example if i took a picture of the school hallway all the way down the hallway that would be a long shot its like a wide shot that shows further.

Point of View: It shows what someone is looking at and sometimes how they see it.

Birds eye view: is when you get a shot of something from above.

Did you always want to be a minister?

-Yes and no. knew it when i was a kid. didn’t want to be when i was teen through to mid 30s.

Did you have to train to be a minister?

-Yes i Trained.

How long did you have to go to school for?

-I do a years worth of distance ed etc. and 2 years in collage of Emmanuel and st. Chad.

How many days a week do you work?

I am on call 24/7 but get 2 day/week.

How much do you get paid monthly?

Gross pay about 3500/month. take home about 2500. But i also get housing. so i get T4ed for another 1000 a month.

Volunteering

Part 1

1.  What are the goals of the organization?

Humane society: Their goal is to help animals find a home who do not have a home.

Salvation Army: Their goal is to help people who are in need.

Red Cross: their goal is to help people with alot like natural disasters, swmmimg saftey, Global health, bullying… etc

2. Who do they help in the community?

Humane Society: They help the stray animals find a home and they help people who are looking for a pet find a pet.

Salvation Army: They collect clothes and other items to help people who need some help.

Red Cross: the help anyone learn about health safety etc

3.  How can volunteers help out?

Humane Society: They can help out by just being there playing with the animals, feeding them, walking them  and even just adopting or donating food  and beds.

Salvation Army: People can help organize the clothes and donate clothes. and just help out around the store.

Red Cross: You can donate and you would have to call to Find out how you help out.

 

Part 2

Choose one of the organizations you have researched and are interested in.  You will be promoting the organization and their need for volunteers.  You might want to consider the following:

1.  What does the organization do?

The humane society takes homeless animals or animals who have run away from home and they help them.

2.  Why is that important?

It is important because they help animal stay healthy and help them find a loving home.

3.  Who benefits from the organization?

Families who would like a animal and the animals who are in need.

4.  Why do they need volunteers?

Because the animals need help.

5.  How can you encourage people to volunteer for the important work the organization does?

You will be creating a poster-digital or paper, a pamphlet we can hand out or a video.  This is an individual activity, but you can use others to help you if you need.

 

1.  What sources are available to individuals, families and communities who are affected by non-curable diseases including HIV and HepC?  Medicine, Counselor, Doctors, treatments.

2.  Describe the effects of non-curable infections and diseases on families and communities. It can spread through out the community and families.

3.  What are the risky behaviors associated with HIV and HepC? How should we determine when people should be tested for HIV?

– Unprotected sex, kissing people who haven’t been tested, Blood brothers/sisters… etc

– you can try and convince them that you can get seriously ill and it can be spread throughot your children and etc..

4.  What kinds of supports are needed in order for a community to stop the spread of HIV and HepC?

– People could go around and tell the community’s the risks of having the diseases. and you could get counselors to talk to the people with it and tell them how they can perv

5.  In the city of Estevan, what types of informal and formal supports are available to people infected or affected by HIV and HepC?

– Envision, Doctors, Nurses, family.

A) are you working as hard as you can?

– No, well like I work hard so I can get good marks but sometimes I might get side tracked and start talking. But I try.

B) Have you been in for extra help?

-I have been once and a while. But I have been getting help out of school.

C) Is there anything that is preventing you from performing to the best of you ability?

-Probably just whats going on in my life. But I can’t run away from that. and what goes on in my life also helps me.

2. Set one goal for yourself for the next term.

My goal for this next term is to get less distracted and to get more done.

– Try and Ignore the people around me.

4. What is one thing you are looking forward to in high school?

– Im actually looking forward to seeing what the sports programs is like, Cause since I started playing sports I was thinking about Actually getting serious about sports

5. What is something you are worried about as you look ahead to next year in high school?

-I’m worried about not being able to keep up with the work and my marks. oh and I don’t want to loose my friends

Genius Hour

1.  Briefly describe what you project was.

-My project was about women’s body types throughout history. I got my idea from BuzzFeed.

2.  Why did you want to do this project?

-I wanted to this project because i wanted to show that many different body types and different types of Fashion and looks that were throughout history and i wanted to show that because I want girls to think they are beautiful no matter what size they are.

3.  What was your biggest challenge you had when you were completing your project?  Why?

– The Biggest challenge was using my own words. but in the end i just had to wing it because honestly i forgot my notes at home.

4.  What was your biggest success? Why?

-My biggest successes was leaving people with so many questions. I enjoy that cause I love when people are so interested they need to ask questions.

5.  What would you change if you could do it over again?

I would change the fact that I left my notes at home.
